Well Done Abba is a 2010 political satire Hindi film

The sensitive manner in which the relationship between a father Boman Irani and a daughter Minissha Lamba has been portrayed in WELL DONE ABBA is one of the few instances of projecting the relationship on the silver screen. Incidentally, while Hindi cinema has been rather benevolent to etch this relationship between a young daughter and a father, it has rather been conservative to portray this relationship at the adult level.

Whenever it has been done in the adult stage, as it used to be the case in old films, it was the case of an old indulgent father impervious to the concerns of a mother and turning blind eye to daughter's prank. A brand ambassador of this role was Nasir Hussain.

With WELL DONE ABBA having received accolades from fans as also from critics it indeed is an opportune time to rewind and traverse the journey about relationship between a father and a daughter.

Benegal’s Well Done Abba is a sweet gem that works despite no big names. A very witty film that’s very well written (by Ashok Mishra) packing in many things together that are relevant to today’s society. The satirical humour may not exactly be of the laugh out loud variety but it manages to keep you smiling throughout the film. It ends up making just the right statement on the many development projects that the government initiates but which frequently get hijacked by systemic corruption.
